Presented in recognition of Hafsa's authorship and the contribution of Soft Doesn't Mean Weak to conversations around resilience, emotional wellbeing and modern strength.

Evidence-based positive psychology, emotional wellbeing and practical tools to help you build lasting resilience, lead with intention and thrive—without burning out.

I didn't set out to write a book. I set out to answer a question that had been following me for years: why do the most capable people so often feel the most depleted?
My work at the intersection of positive psychology and human performance led me to a simple conclusion: true resilience isn't built through force or constant endurance. It's built through self-awareness, intentional action and knowing when to move forward—and when to pause.
That insight became the foundation of Balanced Grit: a philosophy that brings softness and strength together. Through writing, speaking and workshops, I help individuals and organisations build sustainable resilience using positive psychology, behavioural science and practical wellbeing tools.
Balanced Grit is my framework for building lasting resilience through self-awareness, intentional balance and sustainable growth. It combines positive psychology with practical action so you can thrive without sacrificing your wellbeing.
Everything begins with self-awareness. Before you can change your habits, relationships or performance, you must first recognise the patterns that shape your thoughts, emotions and behaviour.
Resilience isn't choosing between strength and softness. It's knowing when each serves you best. True confidence is both courageous and compassionate.
Growth should strengthen your life, not consume it. Sustainable resilience comes from consistent, intentional practices that help you flourish without burning out.

Strength isn't about becoming harder. It's about becoming more whole. In Soft Doesn't Mean Weak, Hafsa Babirye combines positive psychology, emotional resilience and practical exercises to help readers build lasting confidence, navigate challenges and grow without burning out.
Every keynote blends positive psychology, lived experience and practical strategies that audiences can immediately apply. Sessions are tailored for conferences, leadership events, universities and organisations seeking meaningful, evidence-based conversations.

“This book is a powerful reminder that strength isn't always loud. Hafsa beautifully shows that softness, empathy, calmness and emotional intelligence are true forms of strength. It shifted my mindset and reminded me that you can be both gentle and strong at the same time. I highly recommend it.”
“Training with Hafsa over the past couple of years has been life changing. Calling her simply a fitness coach is an understatement. Her unique blend of fitness expertise and positive psychology transforms you from the inside out. While she completely revitalised my physical health, the greatest shift was mental. She introduced me to a level of self-awareness that permanently changed how I see myself and my life.”
